About
A little about who I am and how I spend my days.
First things first: I love Jesus, and I love my family. Everything else I build and tinker with sits underneath those two things. They are the reason I work the way I do and the measure I use for what is worth my time.
I am a solo developer. That means one person designs, builds, ships, and supports every app with my name on it. I work across iOS with Swift and SwiftUI and across the web, and I like the freedom of being small. When you email about one of my apps, you are emailing me.
Outside of code I am happiest making things with my hands. Flower farming has become a genuinely therapeutic part of my life, a slow and quiet counterweight to screens. I run animated light shows, print all kinds of useful and ridiculous things on my 3D printers, and I am a licensed ham radio operator (call sign KQ4VGM). I tinker constantly with Arduino and robotics, and I spend a good amount of time on gardening, landscaping, and turf management around the property.
The thread through all of it is the same: take an idea, build the real thing, and keep it useful. Whether it is an app, a flower bed, or a controller wired to a string of lights, I would rather make something that works than talk about making it.
